The Knott Family

The Knott family had their annual holidays (last two weeks in June and first in July) on Canvey. We have been passed the memories of Olive Cotgreave nee Knott and photos which record their summers back in the mid to late 1920s.

Olive Knott was born in 1916 in Rotherhithe to James and Florence Knott. She was the youngest of six children, four brothers and a sister.

They stayed in the area of Rosewinkle Avenue (now May Avenue) near the seafront although the exact place has yet to be determined. Update - the area was Sprundal and Zandi.
