1953 Flood 63rd Anniversary

In safe hands

As we mark another year since the flood of 1953 we show two new photos of the rescue of Miss Fowler and her brother.

On this day 63 years ago, 84 year old Miss Fowler and her 82 year old brother were hit by the flood. During the following four days they were trapped in their house without food, light or heat.

How did they survive? How they were missed when properties were checked during that time we do not know but it was a miracle they survived.

Safe at last.
