Beach House

Looking North

c1920

This is a great postcard of Beach House. Taken probably in the 1920/30’s.

I have been told that the cement barrels salvaged from the ship ‘BENMOHR’, that sunk off the island, as the result of a collision with another vessel, were used as the foundations of the building.

The building on the right looks very much like Claremont House which I think we decided was in the Dovercliff Road area which would be about right in relation to Beach House.
