There are no tickets for the ball for poor Cinderella Lisa Danby thanks to the ugliest sisters in town. But she does win the hand of a prince in true panto fashion, with the help of a few musical standards along the way. and the ugly sisters, played by BBC employee Gary Phillips and teacher Lin DeCruz, get their comeuppance in the New Swan Theatre’s spirited version of the age old story. Directed by Doug DeCruz, chairman of Castle Point Arts Association, it draws heavily from such Hollywood musicals as Camelot, High Society and the Wizard of Oz. the show which starts this evening is being performed at the Paddocks, Long Road, Canvey, and continues until Saturday. Tickets are still available from ABC Travel, Furtherwick Road, price £1.50 adults and £1 for children.
