Jotman's Flood Plaque Money

Jotmans on the Mural

Earlier this year we had raised money for a plaque to be placed in Jotman’s Lane Cemetery to mark the burial site of 24 Canvey victims of the 1953 floods who were buried there.

There was £300 left over and it was decided to pass the money to the Friends of Concord Beach so that Jotman’s could be added to the mural being painted on the seawall.

Today Joan Liddiard, Chair of the Archive and myself were down at the mural where Jotmans can clearly be seen and Joan handed over the cheque to Colin Letchford, Chair of FOCB.

I hope all who helped us raise the money approve of our choice.
