Will of Francis Thursby of Canvey Island

1714/1715

In the name of God Amen. I Francis Thursby of Canvey Island and parish of Laindon in the County of Essex, yeoman, being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory, praised be God for the sains, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first and principally I comme-d my soul into the hands of the Allmighty God that gave it hoping through the meritts of my Saviour Jesus Christ to receive pardon for my Sins, And my body to be decently burie- in the Church yard of Bower(s)? Gifford in this County, at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named.
Item, I give and bequeath to Robert Cornish of the parish of Payleigh in the foresaid County of Essex yeoman the sume of Twenty Pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid within one week after my decease by my Executrix hereafter named. Item I give to Sarah Cornish Daughter of the said Robert Cornish the sume of five pounds of like lawfull money if Great Britain, to be paid to the said Sarah Cornish by my Executrix within one week after my decease. Item, I give to Sarah Dearsly Daughter of George Dearsly late of Rayleigh in the aforesaid County of Essex yeoman Deseast, all the rest and residues of my Goods, Chattels, movables, Household stuff, stock of Cattls, Book Debts, ready moneys, Bills, Bonds, and whatsoever else it hath pleasd God to bless me withall, And I do likewise hereby cinstitute and appoint the said Sarah Dearsly full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament , hereby revoking all former Wills by me made, In Wittnes whereof I the said Francis Thursby to this my Last Will and Testament have set and affixed my Hand and Seals this Twenty fifth day of February in the first year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the Grace of God King of Great Britain France and Ireland defender of the faith –?
