Seawall Mural Jaywick

Tides of Tendring Project

By Janet Walden

Canvey's seawall murals were the inspiration. The poem is written below.

Throw at me nature’s fury and I’ll stand firm

I keep the sea at bay and your paradise safe

Our seaside shield, defender, help me. help me.

Cold six foot giant I divide sea from settlements

How much longer can I do this job?

A friend in tides of need

The restless sea has won
