This was one of the weekends before we married.(it must be, we look so happy and cosy) October 1955. We had a tandem but it was nice hiring this as we sat side by side. riding along the central wall area. During the season you would see a lot of them around Canvey. With practically no chance of being hit by a car they would be seen often on a road with youngsters on them.

You could hire those side by side bikes at the sea front by Billy Wells place.
They were called “daisy bell” bikes
