Three postcards featuring the village pump and Post Office. The buildings to the left in the picture below and at the back in the two pictures below are still standing today. They are early pictures dating from when the trough was made of metal.
They can be seen at the junction of Canvey Road, Long Road and Haven Road, which is where the pump stood for many years. Obviously the village gathering place.
The last picture shows the thatched roof over the pump being repaired
