The new building rising fast

Notice Board outside the site

This notice-board has now appeared outside the building site. A newsletter outlines the work currently being done and gives us new drawings of the finished school and a fantastic aerial view of the site taken from one of the cranes.

We have managed to get photographs during the last few weeks of the whole site from various directions giving an overall idea of the work in progress.

The newsletter outlines the work due to be completed over the next few months which we have copied in below.

As the work progresses we will continue to update with pictures if at all possible.

From the newsletter:

•The groundworks and concrete frame are well underway. Two tower cranes are now servicing the main school with deliveries entering and exiting the site through separate gates on Foksville Road.

•The first ground to first floor columns have now been cast, and the superstructure frame will now quickly emerge above the hoarding lines.

•The concrete frame will be nearing completion by Christmas.

•The works to the playfields have commenced. The southern half of the fields have been ploughed and levelled. Land drainage is presently being installed. The area will be seeded and left to grow in Spring next year.

•Towards the end of November the steel structure to the Sports Hall will commence. The steel frame should also be complete prior to Christmas.

•Works to the external envelope will also commence towards the end of November when window installation and brickwork is due to commence.
