I felt very sad when someone told me Phyllis had passed away. She was my Brown Owl when I joined Brownies at St Nicholas in 1968. I also knew her from when I was in the church choir when I was older and she used to attend Evensong at St Nicholas. Years later, she used to be at the Knightswick Clinic where I took my eldest daughter to be weighed. She was a lovely lady and whenever I saw her she always had something kind to say. She was a special person in Canvey’s community and will be very much missed.
