Parish Supper

Canvey Island Parish Church Christian Stewardship Campaign put on a Parish Supper on Friday 28th April 1961 at The Secondary School, Furtherwick Road (later to be known as Furtherwick Park School). Keith Bonsor’s family were very prominent with the church and Keith’s father Ernest designed much of the church’s booklets etc he was also a speaker at supper. It is from Keith’s collection, which was passed to him by his father, that we have this great picture from a local paper and other memorabilia from the day including Ernest’s speech, which you can read in the gallery below.

Canvey Parish Church Christian Stewardship Campaign was outlined to about 300 parishioners at a parish supper at Canvey Furtherwick Road Secondary School on Saturday. Among the speakers was the Ven. W, N. Welch. Archdeacon of Southend.
