This quilt was given to Betty Richards by the people of Canada. Canada sent a quilt to every Canvey family following the flood in 1953 to help them recover and rebuilt their lives. I understand this particular quilt is very rare. Hopefully the Heritage Centre where it is housed will find a way to preserve it.
