Is this before the bridge actually opened??? Looks as if it is nearing completion. Usual worksite, men standing about talking 🙂 The two ferry boats are in operation.

Really interesting postcard, particularly as it clearly shows the route of the of the road to the ferry/stepping stones, how it crosses the creek wall to the west of Waterside Cottages and how far out it was in the present-day saltings. Must have needed a lot of maintenance and could never have been an easy passage for either wheeled traffic or pedestrians after each high-tide.
