The Seax Archeaology site describes Tree Farm as a single-storied house with attics, timber-framed and weatherboarded, with thatched roofs. Built in the 17th century, the house is of central-chimney type with `modern additions’ to the rear and an original central chimneystack.
This clearly is a very good description of the farm house in the picture. I cannot find a description of Westwick Farmhouse. It could have been of similar construction.

My father believes your photo to be a picture of the farm house at tree farm. My father was brought up on Monkswick farm during the war, were he lived with my grandparents. My grandfather was the farm foreman for Northwick & Westwick farms during the war period. After the war (approx. 1950) My grandfather rented both Northwick farm & Westwick Farm. My grandfather also rented Tree farm from about 1966. My father today stills rents tree farm from the land owners (Coles of Tilbury).

David , I used to work with Len Lazell, Pat and David his sons at the Farm at the bottom of Northwick Road. Are you Davids son who had blonde hair and glasses.
Hi Joe, yes I am Davids son, hair not so blonde now but still got the glasses. Dad stills rents Northwick and Tree farm.
Hi David, good to hear from you, do you work on the farm ??. Dad must be getting on now as I am 70, I used to enjoy working with your Dad, Len & Pat, I think you also had a sister. I live in Norfolk now in a little village called Hilgay, still working as a Gamekeeper, part time now. Perhaps I might get down sometime and see how the area has changed, give my best to your Dad.
