Post Cards of Seaview Road, Leigh Beck

Cox's Cafe was located between Seaview Road, Dovercliff Road and South Parade. In this same area Hester's Mono-Rail Station was said to be located (1902), hence the later name Station Road.

Some of these Post Cards may have been taken either from Cox's Cafe or maybe the adjacent Beach House?

My grandfather Persey Cox was part owner of the hotel with his brother in the early 1900. He moved to Canada in 1912 to live in Welland Ont. Can.

My mother's brothers worked for this hotel probably in the 30's. She had three brothers, Arthur Adams, Stanley Adams and Lawrence Adams. I think her father was a builder and a chef at some stage. They went on to work for the Ozonia Hotel (think that was how it was spelt). My mother was a waitress at the Ozonia hotel. Her name was Ivy.
