A truly sadistic woman. Inflicting physical or mental pain on children was her Heroin. Regards

Crikey! That comment brought back memories! I was terrified of that woman – she used to make us line up outside the class to get the backs of our legs slapped on a regular basis. I used to have nightmares about her. Didn’t she have ginger hair?

You are actually looking at in this photograph Miss Alma Gosling, {jet black hair} you are actually referring to Miss Louise Gosling who had bright ginger hair. She never spoke to me once, she gave me a horrlble look last time I saw her at my mothers Funneral 1963.You are probably correct with the description of Louise, I think it is rather unfair to tar her older sister with these awful comments. I have two of the above photographs, as Alma was my mother and left Canvey Island end of the summer 1936. She was a very quiet kind person, who lent Louise the money for her teacher training, she refused to pay a red cent back. Alma never fully trained never could afford to. That was the nasty person you knew!! not the lady in the picture above.

I remember a spiteful woman named Miss Bindoff, she slapped my legs and my Mother went to the school after her but she hid somewhere, despicable old shrew.
