Canvey Island

Anonymous

Bumble Park, Labworth, 2009

I live on an island called Canvey
Where the people are friendly and nice,
If anyone asked me to leave here
I know I wouldn’t think twice.

Because this is my little haven,
A place where I feel so good
By breathing the air and smelling the sea
And seeing trees grow as they should.

I come from living in concrete,
The only thing green was a park.
The faces had changed from happy
And I never went out after dark.

So Canvey is my home now
Where its lovely, I’m happy to stay
With the sea, green places and many friends
I know I wont go away.
