A British Pathe © film dated 1958 shot on Canvey showing the Prout brothers and a new Catamaran. Only the first part of the fim is of interest to us.

The film description is:

The Prout brothers rig and launch their new Catamaran "Shearwater 3rd" at Canvey Island, Essex. At the time this was a new type of sailing craft capable of sailing at over 20 knots.

They sail out of the harbour onto open water. Various sailing shots, up and past camera, CU's of them at the helm, and tacking.
