Still in Deepwater over Paddling Pool

An update by Steve Bullock

Canvey’s Town Council met at the Paddocks on Monday 26 April, the meeting chaired by Dave Blackwell received ‘passionate’ questions from the public over the progress of saving Concord beach paddling pool.

There has become an element of secrecy over developments which several members of the public are concerned and annoyed with. The Town Council assured the members of the public that they, with the Castle Point Borough Council, have elected a Pool Committee who are working together to provide an accurate report on the paddling pool.

Many members of the public voiced concerns on the secrecy of developments, they want to know what is happening. The Town Council reported it was perhaps not the ‘best way forward’ but the only way to submit an accurate, non biased report, without influences of misinterpreted information being forwarded before the final report is submitted by the Joint Pool Committee.

It is apparent that there is still confusion on what pool is to be demolished, why and how deep it is.

Why not go and see before it is too late.

A personal account on how I saw developments.
