— A British Pathe (c) film dated 1953 about a man’s answer to Canvey’s flooding.   The film description is as follows:

Flood model of bungalow, Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex.

General scenes of floods of Canvey Island (air and ground level) (Library material). M/S Pan, man (inventor William Croxford carrying model house from doorway into garden. M/S Carrying the model to a bath tub in the garden. He places the model down on the ground. M/S He picks up a brick which is marked “Tank” and places it in the bath tub on four upright tubes, which he slides up and down. C/U Placing the tank on the tube.

C/U Man’s face. C/U Sliding tank on tube. C/U He picks up the model from the ground. M/S Places the model on top of the tank. C/U He picks up two rods, which hold the four tubes vertical M/S Attaching the rods to the tubes. C/U Man’s face. M/S He places the hose-pipe in the bath to fill it with water.
