Canvey Island Early 1960's (Part 1) video clip

Home cinè film

Here is a short clip of me and my family on Canvey beach and me and my Sister enjoying the rides at the Casino.  A trip to Canvey Island was never complete without a visit to the Casino, we actually thought we were driving those cars around the track!

  • Lots of good memories watching this. My parents took us on holiday every year for two weeks in July/August. Can almost smell the sea, sea the beach cafe and smell the fish and chips down at the Casino.

  • I stumbled upon this whilst trying to find the photo of my cousin Vic with the porpoise that was washed up at the point in the late sixties. I lived in Hackney but spent as much time as possible with my aunt Ann Uncle Vic and my cousins at Point Road. Fondest memories of The Casino, ghost train, hall of mirrors, Helter skelter and in later years Cloud 9 and the Gold Mine including many memories of Dr Feelgood, Chrissie White and many other local bands including Mash and The Bitches!! Great days 😃
