Compilation of short clips

Canvey Seafront late 1930's

More of Claxtons cine films, this time I have put a few short clips together. They look as if they were all taken in the late 1930’s and are in the Seafront/Furtherwick Road area. There are glimpses of the Casino, Monico, Rio, Beach House, Concord Cafe to name a few. Enjoy.

  • I think there is something wrong with the date of late 1930s in front of the Casino. As I rememberd there was no street just grass until one got to the Monico and no cars. A large tent was put up across from the Casino for public shows etc. I could be so wrong, but I dont think a street was put in until the early 1940s

  • We do not know the dates of these clips or the others in this section Norman just guessing, although some are more obvious than others. All we know is they are from the 30s/40s
